Listen first
A first-year voice you can actually reach
Representation starts with listening. I’ll keep open DMs, use regular feedback forms, show up in person, and bring what I hear directly into the Assembly.
Tyler Barrus · First-Year Representative
Your first year should have a voice in the room—and a representative who reports back when the room clears.
Why I’m running
First-years are figuring out a new campus while living with decisions we rarely get to shape. That has to change.
I’m running to make it genuinely easy to speak up, understand what SGA is doing, and see your concerns carried into the Assembly. This campaign isn’t about collecting a title. It’s about building a direct line between our class and the people making decisions.
The plan
I won’t promise to fix everything alone. I will promise to listen, push, communicate, and follow through.
Listen first
Representation starts with listening. I’ll keep open DMs, use regular feedback forms, show up in person, and bring what I hear directly into the Assembly.
Make it better
Dining, transportation, residence halls, campus services, and safety shape our lives every day. I’ll push for practical improvements—and follow through after the meeting ends.
Keep you posted
You deserve clear, short updates about what’s happening, what I’m advocating for, and where progress actually stands. No jargon. No disappearing after Election Day.
Bring us together
First year can feel fragmented as hell. I’ll advocate for events and initiatives that help us meet beyond our dorms and friend groups—and feel part of Syracuse together.
Your voice. Your class. Your vote.
